Human Fodder (Chinese: 人類飼料) refers broadly to any food consumed without mindful engagement, serving solely as a means to satisfy hunger. The term is not limited to specific categories of ingredients or food products; processed foods, fruits and vegetables, meats, and grains can all be considered human fodder under certain conditions.

The classification of food as human fodder depends not on its form or nutritional value, but on the eater’s attitude and awareness toward the act of eating. When individuals neglect the sensory and participatory aspects of food selection, preparation, and consumption—reducing eating to a mere act of energy intake—food ceases to function as a cultural, emotional, and social medium. In such cases, it is perceived as analogous to "fodder" in its most utilitarian sense.
